Drop It
The Right Way.
Coilovers, drop springs, air ride, and full-bag builds — installed by hand, dialed in with camber correction, and finished with a Hunter alignment so the tires don't die in three months.
A car that sits right looks right.
And one that doesn't, doesn't. The difference between a properly dropped car and a hacked-together one isn't the parts — it's whether the shop knew what they were doing. Big Shot Rides has been dropping cars, trucks, and SUVs out of our Coconut Creek shop for over a decade.
Coilovers, drop springs, lowering shackles, leveling-and-drop combos, full air ride — we install it on a proper rack, set ride height to your spec, fit a camber kit if the platform needs one, and finish every build with a Hunter Hawkeye alignment so the tires last and the steering wheel sits straight.
Drop Springs vs. Coilovers vs. Air Suspension
Drop springs (1"–2.5"): simplest, cheapest way to lower a car. Replaces the factory springs with shorter, stiffer versions. Fixed ride height, mild stiffness increase. Best for daily drivers who want a cleaner stance without changing how the car drives much.
Coilovers (adjustable height + damping): the right answer for most enthusiasts. Dial in ride height anywhere in the kit's range; adjustable damping lets you tune ride quality. Quality kits (BC, KW, Fortune, BR, ICON, Bilstein) give you a car that actually drives better than stock. Cheaper kits make the car feel terrible — we'll tell you which is which.
Air suspension: the only way to slam a car for shows and still have ride height for speed bumps and driveways. Higher cost, more maintenance, but unbeatable flexibility. We install Air Lift, Accuair, and other major systems.
Truck drops: flip kits, c-notches, and shackle-and-hanger combos for trucks. Real drop-truck work, not a fender-rolling weekend job.
Don't Skip the Camber Kit.
This is where most "lowering" jobs go wrong. When you drop a car, the suspension geometry changes — specifically, the camber angle pulls negative. On most platforms with more than ~1.5" of drop, you need a camber correction kit:
- Rear camber arms on Hondas and Civics
- Camber bolts on most fronts
- Full plate kits on AWD platforms
- Adjustable upper control arms on most platforms with bigger drops
Without the kit, the inside edge of every tire wears out in 8,000 miles instead of 40,000. We won't drop a car without quoting the camber work alongside it.
The Right Kit for Your Platform.
If you've already bought a kit, we'll install it. If you're still researching, we'll match the kit to your platform, how you drive it, and the ride quality you want.
What's Included
- Pre-install inspection — suspension, brake lines, sway bar links, CV axles
- Removal of factory components without cutting unless required
- Camber correction kit installation if needed for your platform and drop amount
- Torque-to-spec install per the manufacturer's instructions
- Hunter Hawkeye alignment included with every install
- Ride-height verification — measured at all four corners to your spec
- Road test on city and highway speeds before pickup
- Printed receipt with part numbers, torque specs, and alignment report
What we won't do: hit the lowering bolt with an impact, skip the camber kit, or send a car out the door with the steering wheel off-center.
Slammed for Shows. Driveable Every Day.
Air suspension is the only way to lay a car down for a photo and still have ride height to clear your driveway. We install full management systems with proper tank placement, sealed compressor mounts, height sensors, and wireless control — Air Lift Performance 3P/3H, Accuair e-Level, and other major systems.
We don't drill where we don't have to. Trunks come back usable. Spare tire wells stay intact where possible. If we're touching factory wiring, you'll know exactly where and why.
Exotics & Luxury Done Right.
Rolls-Royce Spectres, matte Cullinans, AMG GTs, McLarens, Lamborghinis, Porsche GT3s — these aren't cars you give to a tire shop with a lift kit. Big Shot Rides has the experience, the equipment, and the bay to do them right. Soft tie-downs, climate-controlled bay, full Hunter precision, white-glove handling.
Want it slammed for the photo session, then lifted to clear the Las Olas valet? That's air ride. Want a half-inch drop on coilovers that improves handling without ruining the ride? Done. We work backwards from how you actually drive the car.
Daily Drivers to Slammed Show Cars.
We've built lowered daily drivers, show cars, slammed trucks, and exotic bag builds across virtually every platform. The most common in South Florida:
- BMW / Mercedes / Audi — M3, M4, AMG, RS, S-Class, G-Wagon
- Honda / Acura — Civic, Accord, Integra, TLX, NSX
- Rolls-Royce — Cullinan, Wraith, Spectre, Ghost
- Dodge / Chevy / Ford — Challenger, Charger, Camaro, Corvette, Mustang
- Lexus / Toyota / Subaru — IS, GS, LC, RC, Supra, WRX, STI
- VW / Mini — GTI, Golf R, Atlas, Tiguan, Cooper S
- Truck drops — Silverado, Sierra, F-150, RAM 1500, Tacoma, Tundra (flip kits, c-notches, full bags)
If it has springs, we've probably dropped one. Call us with your platform and we'll spec the right kit.
One Drop-Off. The Whole Car.
Most drop customers come in for more than one thing. We can do all of it in one visit — dropped, wheels mounted, aligned, wrapped, PPF'd on the front clip, and ceramic'd.
Common Questions
How much does a lowering kit installation cost?
It depends on kit type (drop springs vs. coilovers vs. air ride), whether a camber correction kit is needed for your platform, and any additional work like wheels and alignment. Call (954) 531-9965 for a free quote on your specific build.
Do I need an alignment after a lowering kit?
Yes — a Hunter Hawkeye alignment is included with every lowering install at Big Shot Rides. Dropping a car changes camber angle, and without correction the inside edge of every tire will wear out in roughly 8,000 miles instead of 40,000.
Do I need a camber kit when I lower my car?
Most platforms need camber correction with more than 1.5 inches of drop. We will quote the camber kit alongside your install and explain which kit your specific platform needs (rear camber arms, front camber bolts, full plate kits, or adjustable upper control arms).
Coilovers or drop springs — which is better?
Drop springs are simpler and cheaper, but lock you to one ride height and damping rate. Coilovers cost more but let you dial in both ride height and damping, and quality kits actually improve ride and handling versus stock. For most enthusiasts, coilovers are the right call.
Do you install air suspension?
Yes — Air Lift Performance, Accuair, and other major systems. Full management installs with proper tank placement, compressor mount, height sensors, and wireless control. Slammed for shows, driveable every day.
How long does a lowering kit installation take?
Most coilover or spring installs take 1 day. Air ride builds take 1–2 days depending on tank and compressor placement. Drop off in the morning, we'll send progress photos.
