The Right Habits.
Two-Bucket Hand Wash
Wash bucket, rinse bucket, pH-neutral soap, soft mitt. The coating makes dirt release easily — let it, instead of grinding.
Dry It — Don’t Let It Bake
Florida water is mineral-heavy. Drying with a soft towel or blower after washing prevents the water spots that etch into any surface, coated or not.
Wash on a Schedule
A coated car cleans up fast — which makes regular washing painless. Contamination that never sits never bonds.
Annual Inspection
Once a year, let the shop decontaminate, measure, and refresh the surface. It keeps the coating performing and the five-year expectation honest — ask us about the annual checkup.

Automatic Brush Tunnels
The brushes that swirl paint swirl coatings too. The whole point of the coating is that a gentle hand wash is now easy — use it.
Harsh or High-pH Chemicals
Degreasers, wheel acids on the paint, and “heavy duty” all-purpose cleaners eat away at the coating’s chemistry over time.
Waxing Over the Coating
Old-school wax adds nothing on top of ceramic and can smear the slickness. If you want more, use a ceramic-compatible topper — or ask us.

The two Florida enemies of a ceramic coating are mineral-heavy water drying in the sun and years of UV — the first leaves etched spots, the second slowly ages every surface outdoors. How do I wash a ceramic coated car?
pH-neutral soap, two buckets, soft mitt, and a proper dry. It’ll be the easiest wash you’ve ever done — that’s the coating working.
Do I still need to wash it if water beads off?
Yes — the coating repels, it doesn’t self-clean. Regular washing keeps contamination from bonding and keeps the beading sharp.
What about water spots?
Prevention first: dry after washing, avoid sprinkler zones. If spots do etch in, bring it by — catching them early is a quick fix, ignoring them isn’t.
Why the annual inspection?
A yearly decon and check keeps the surface performing like new, catches problems while they’re small, and keeps your five-year expectation realistic and documented. We’ll remind you when it’s time.
