What Actually Determines the Cost of a Car Wrap in South Florida.

Updated September 23, 2026 · By the Big Shot Rides team · Coconut Creek, FL

Every week someone calls the shop and asks the same fair question: “what’s a wrap cost?” And the honest answer is — it depends on five things. Not shop-speak. Five real variables that move the number up or down. Here’s what they are, so when you compare quotes you know exactly what you’re looking at.

1. The size and shape of your vehicle

A two-door coupe and a lifted crew-cab truck are different jobs. More surface area means more film and more hours, but shape matters as much as size — deep bumpers, door handles, complex curves, and roof rails all add install time. A boxy G-Wagon is honest work; a curvy sports car makes the film fight you on every panel. Wrapping a Tesla? See our Tesla wraps guide for model-by-model specifics.

2. The film itself

We install 3M, Avery, KPMF, and Oracal — films with real warranties and a track record in Florida heat. There’s cheaper film out there. It goes on fine, looks good for a season, then the South Florida sun gets to work: fading, cracking, shrinking at the edges, and an adhesive that either lets go early or welds itself to your paint. A wrap is only as good as what it’s made of, and film quality is the biggest quality difference between quotes.

Finish matters too — gloss, matte, satin, color-shift, and chrome-delete accents each price differently.

3. What your paint looks like before we start

Film is thin. It shows what’s under it. A wrap over rock chips, peeling clear coat, or wavy bodywork telegraphs every flaw — so honest prep sometimes means paint correction first, and occasionally it means us telling you a wrap isn’t the right move for that car yet. We’d rather lose a job than wrap a problem.

4. Design and coverage

A full color change is one price conversation. Adding a printed design, commercial graphics, roof-only or accent coverage, chrome delete — each changes material and hours. For business wraps, design time is part of the job: we proof everything on your actual vehicle model before any film gets printed. Wrapping a work trailer too? That’s its own page: trailer wraps.

5. Who’s doing the installing

This is the part nobody puts on the quote sheet. A wrap’s lifespan is decided in the install: how panels were prepped, whether edges were sealed properly, whether the installer stretched the film past its limits to save material. Certified installers cost more than a guy with a heat gun and a weekend — and the difference shows up two summers from now, not the day you pick the car up.

How to compare wrap quotes (without getting burned)

When you have quotes in hand, ask each shop:

A quote that’s dramatically lower than the others isn’t a deal. It’s a different product wearing the same name.

The Florida factor

Everything above gets amplified here. UV, heat, salt air, afternoon storms — South Florida is the hardest place in the country to be a car wrap. It’s why we’re picky about film brands, why we seal edges the way we do, and why we’ll talk you through aftercare before you leave. A wrap that survives Broward summers was built to, on purpose.

Get a real number for your car

Ranges on the internet are guesses — though for a full color change at our Coconut Creek wrap shop, most builds land between $3,500 and $6,000+, and where you fall in that range comes down to the five factors above. Your actual number takes us about five minutes: tell us the vehicle, the look you’re after, and send a couple of photos. Call or text (954) 531-9965, or stop by the shop at 6601 Lyons Rd, Suite C-14, Coconut Creek — Chris answers, and the quote is free.

How much does a full car wrap cost in South Florida?

Most full color-change wraps at Big Shot Rides run $3,500–$6,000+ depending on vehicle size, film choice, and how much disassembly the job needs. Commercial wraps typically run $3,000–$5,500+. Every quote is built from your actual vehicle — not a menu.

Why do wrap prices vary so much between shops?

Film quality, prep time, and what gets removed versus taped off. Bargain pricing usually means economy film and shortcuts you will see at the seams within a year. We install 3M, Avery, KPMF, and Oracal — and we wrap edges, not just faces.

How long does a quality wrap last in Florida?

Plan on about five years on vertical panels and about three on horizontal surfaces — the hood and roof take the brunt of Florida UV. Garage parking and ceramic coating over the wrap both extend it. Economy film can fail in one or two years. See our wrap care guide for keeping it right.
